Thomas J. Anastasio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular
and Integrative Physiology at the University of Illinois.
He is a full-time faculty member at the Beckman Institute,
where he has established the
Computational Systems Neuroscience Laboratory. The lab’s mission is to gain
deeper insight into nervous system function by simulating neural systems using
computers. The CSN Lab has several collaborators, both on and off campus. Tom holds joint or affiliate
appointments with other campus units including the Neuroscience Program,
Bioengineering, and the Center for
Biophysics and Computational Biology.

| Yash joined the lab in December of 2000, bringing a wacky graduate student into the lab's mix. He came with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and a minor in Psychology, from The Johns Hopkins University, along with a penchant for Illinois custard and whiteboards. As part of the Graduate Program in Biophysics and Computational Biology, he is hoping to bring a biological perspective to the Cerebellum Project, along with a little bit of his net saavy for the lab webpage (it would be kind of silly to put a link to that wouldn't it?). For those interested in his CV, you can download it here. |
